Explore the intricacies of dating young Filipina women as an older man. In this insightful guide, discover the mentor-protege dynamic, foster growth, and address desires for children.
Western men 40 to 70 years old prefer dating and marrying young Filipina women.
Many Western men who were expats in their 50s and 60s, whom I chatted with in bars, agreed with the above statement.
They also mentioned that the young Filipina Women they dated made them much happier than their ex-wives back home.
I thought twice before putting this statement in the blog as my wife reads my blogs from time to time, but as most men were passionate and genuine, they insisted I make this point in my blog to help men escape the matrix, as one well-put-together 60-year-old put it.
I met them on my travels to Thailand and the Philippines in 2023, and they mentioned that they also strongly preferred marrying a young Filipina after their divorce back in the US, UK, and AU.
Many expressed that they did not struggle to find a young and beautiful Filipina in her 20s, 30s, and early 40s but not much older.
These men prefer young Filipina ladies who capture their hearts, specifically those in their early to late 20s. Dare I say it, these women have not experienced their first breakup and heartache.
These experiences create emotional baggage for both men and women, which they carry with them throughout life and into their future relationships.
It’s good to know that dating a young Filipina woman in her 20s requires considering a rather wide age gap in Western males and considering individual experiences.
However, most expressed that an older Western man became a mentor and guide for a young Filipina in this relationship dynamic.
She should acquire what you would call “life skills” in the everyday sense—perhaps these skills involve managing her money via a bank card, travelling overseas, and reading and speaking more English.
In their view, the relationship should not just be successful for the older man in securing a young and beautiful Filipina woman.
The relationship should be about her becoming a better, more well-rounded person.
An important part of dating a young Filipina woman is managing your expectations.
A young Filipina woman in her 20s might not have the maturity or life experience to match someone in their 40s, 50s, 60s, or 70s, or if you are still alive and functioning, a man in his 80s or older. Be patient while helping her develop.
Perhaps the most frequent fear expressed by a more mature Westerner when thinking about serious involvement with a younger Filipina woman is the possibility that she might want a family.
From my own experience and talking with scores, possibly hundreds, of expats from AU, the US, and the UK over the years, somewhere between 35 and 40 percent of young and very attractive Filipina women in their 20s, right at the outset as they’re falling in love, might seem receptive to the thought that they wouldn’t want to have children—at least not right away. Then again, that might change as they get older.
If you know you never want children, find a Filipina to marry with whom that is not a concern. Grow the relationship, discuss family planning options openly, and continue to make sure you both want the same things.
Ultimately, many men who joined the chat with me at a pub in Cebu City resoundingly agreed that those older Western men dating a young Filipina woman would succeed in keeping the relationship going only if mutual respect, understanding, and goals existed.
They continued, “Yes, he should respond to her interest and respect her self-esteem. When she lets him in, find ways to broaden the relationship into a true fondness filled with passion.”
If you navigate the obstacles well, dating a young Filipina woman can be an extraordinarily beneficial experience for both of you. I suggest you see yourselves as a ‘mentor-mentee’ in your relationship, focusing on developing her, nurturing her growth and assisting her in navigating life. Creating the right environment for her growth and development will ultimately create the right environment for both of you to build a happy, long-term relationship.
1. What should I consider before dating a younger woman?
Consider the dynamics of the relationship and your willingness to take on a mentor role while being patient with her growth.
2. How do I communicate my desire for no children?
Be open and honest about your feelings early in the relationship to avoid future conflicts.
3. Can a younger woman change her mind about wanting kids?
Yes, feelings can evolve, so keeping communication channels open is important. When your young Filipina partner or wife hits 30 years old, she may get an urge to bring up the subject of having kids to fulfil her biological need to have a family. Be honest if you have already had a vasectomy in your previous relationship, now that your kids are grown.
4. What if she lacks basic life skills?
Embrace your role as a mentor and provide her with the knowledge she needs to grow confidently.
5. Is there a timeline for commitment?
It’s advisable to take your time, ideally giving it at least two years before making long-term commitments such as marriage and 12 months before you move her in.
