Crafting an Appealing Dating Profile for Filipinas

Straight off the bat, as an expat, you need to know that most Filipinas are not materialistic and are less hypergamous than Western Women, so your approach will be different from how you went about approaching and attracting Western women. 

In other words, you don’t need to strap on fake abs and take a profile picture next to a Ferrari to attract a beautiful Filipina. You will do just fine by being an average guy.

I will share some tips from my experience dating five Filipinas in Australia. I have also interviewed scores of Filipinas during my visit to the Philippines to get their views in case any of my readers are new to this and need some guidance.

Filipinas Want A Great Profile Photo

Like most women, Filipinas judge you by your first impression but not by your looks. Trust me, I have seen and met a lot of older expats in their 60s in Cebu with their arms around very young and hot Filipinas, and these guys weren’t rich either.

It floored me as a younger guy to see this side of reality in the Philippines, as in the West, they may not get a second look unless they are rich.

Filipinas want a guy to look well-groomed, be kind-hearted, be employed, and be financially stable, which is nothing more than what they ask for.

Examples of photos Filipinas like:
A clean-shaven or facial hair-groomed picture of you in the office Administration (e.g., a white Shirt and Black pants or a suit) gives the Filipinas the feeling that they are clean and dependable. There is no need to show her your abs in the picture or stand next to a Lambo to get the nicest and most priest Filipinas; at least, this has been my experience dating Filipinas in Australia.

Showcase your gentler side to a Filipina

You know I mentioned Filipinas want a kind-hearted, stable guy. 

This is mostly to make her feel safe and comfortable around you. You must show that in pictures to attract a pretty, high-value Filipina.

 The prettiest Filipinas I have dated in Australia wanted to see this quality in me when I dated them; many expats I met in Cebu and Manila also agreed with me. Take pictures of you with pets, doing charity work, with family members, cuddling your kids, organising kids, travelling with friends, etc. These pictures will give her the impression that you are a good guy.

I can tell you hand-on-heart that a Filipina values your heart over your looks and money—no pun intended. Remember I mentioned that Filipinas are generally not hypergamous like most Western women.

When I met ex-pats in Cebu, I often became baffled as the hottest Filipinas were hanging out with average-looking expats; I initially thought these guys were rich. 

When I met a few couples and heard their stories in pubs and bars in the Philippines, I was surprised and impressed. Most attractive Filipinas were paired up with average-looking guys who weren’t rich.

Fix your dating bio

Over the last 15 years, I have found most Filipina women I have dated to be usually down to earth, easygoing, social, and family-oriented, more so than the other women I have dated.

Based on the circa 30 nationalities I have dated, I scored Filipina women highly on agreeableness when juxtaposing my experiences with Filipinas against women of other nationalities. 

During the discussion, they may tell me they prefer to hear about my hobbies, interests, and activities that I enjoy with my family and friends and how I am family-orientated, more so than how much money I make or how many properties I own.

So when you write out your profile, if you have hobbies and interests, mention them first if you are trying to attract a Filipina.

If you love hiking, reading, or trying new foods, mention it in the bio if you’re an engineer or computer scientist and like tech. Put it down; if you enjoy hanging out with your kids on the weekends because you are a single dad,  lead with it.

Most Filipinas have a weak spot for guys with a kind heart who are altruistic, so if you do charity work to help the homeless, help at church, or babysit kids, etc, mentioning these activities will get you more success with a Filipina as it did for me and with many ex-pats I met in my travels who just nice guys. 

To a Filipina, the nice guy gets the girl. Therefore, you’ll be surprised when many Filipinos ping you on dating apps after you update your profile.

Avoid Near Nude Photos: A Personal Story 

I had several memorable moments in this space during my early to mid-20s as a gym enthusiast. Through sheer grit and determination, I sculpted a chiselled body with a six-pack. I remember running shirtless in the summer; it seemed like every second woman I passed either smiled and blushed or giggled and looked away with a grin. I often posted photos of myself in gym shorts without a shirt on my POF profile.

The response was astounding; the number of messages I received from White Western women aged 20 to 40 nearly doubled overnight, with a handful being quite forward about wanting to get intimate rather quickly. Many of them behaved like men with how forward they were about their desires.

One thing that stood out to me was that despite being very attracted to Asian or Filipina women, I hardly received any messages from them. I wished I could have heard more from them, but unfortunately, I did not have them message me first.

When I dated my first, second, and third Filipina, I learnt from them that they generally do not place much emphasis on a man’s psychological appearance. However, they pay attention to a man’s hygiene—i.e., does he shower, brush his teeth twice a day, smell good, shave—you get the drift.

Maintain Some Mystery

So, here’s the deal: keeping some things private when setting up your profile is important. You don’t want to spill every detail about your life.

For instance, if you own a yacht or several investment properties, you might want the Filipina woman checking out your profile to fall for you, not just your bank account.

Going the other way can lead to attracting predatory Filipinas who see you as nothing more than an ATM.

They’ll pretend to like you; that’s the last thing you want. Even worse, some might fake it until you’re married, then try to get their hands on your assets. There are stories out there—I’ve heard about expats getting into some serious trouble in Cebu with gangs that these women might be connected to, all to extort money. So, my advice? Keep that info close to your chest for at least six months, and take the time to get to know the Filipina. Vet her well for red flags before talking about your worth!

Avoid Asking for Nude Photos 

It’s important to remember to be respectful when communicating with Filipinas. Asking for nude photos on your bio is a definite no-go. Filipinas are often gentle and conservative by nature. Even if, by chance, a Filipina were to send you such photos, it can lead to serious consequences if they were to leak online. A dear Filipina friend of mine, Eve, once shared that if such images are exposed, especially for someone from the province, the shame can be overwhelming, potentially leading to family disownment or community ostracism. So, let’s be gentlemen and avoid making such requests!
